If you own a Focusrite product you can download the SurferEQ 2 Boogie plugin from Sound Radix for free through the month of October.
A few months back Focusrite started a new thing called the Focusrite Plug-in Collective where they team up with plugin developers to offer free plugins and special promotions for Focusrite customers.
Each month they have been giving away a different free plugin.
The free plugin for October is a trimmed-down version of a new pitch-tracking equalizer called SurferEQ 2 by Sound Radix.
The Focusrite version of the plugin offers three bands instead of seven, and it’s called SurferEQ 2 Boogie.
Here’s more about the plugin from the description:
SurferEQ 2 Boogie features 3 bands, two of which can be switched to Shelf mode, while the centre band can be switched between Surfing and static mode. Surfing mode tracks the pitch of a monophonic instrument or a vocal source and can adapt its bands’ frequencies relative to the music in real-time, maintaining the natural harmonic balance of the sound source and making it possible to shape the source’s timbre relative to the notes being played.
The free plugin is listed on the Focusrite Plug-in Collective page but it’s not showing up on my account page just yet; the Eventide Reverb plugin from last month is still listed instead. The new plugin will probably get added to accounts in a day or two.
Normally you just have to login to your Focusrite account to to get the serial number and product license key for the free plugin each month.
